Kostas Vattes

Kostas has a doctorate in sustainable transitions at the Division of Science, Technology and Society, at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). His academic interests revolve around technological policy and innovation and technological transformations to sustainability. His previous studies are in the fields of economics and business administration. His doctoral research discusses issues of energy transitions towards sustainability, underscoring issues of governance and local engagement. It relies on perspectives from STS and Sustainable Transitions Studies. Kostas has published two articles in scientific journals and has made scientific announcements at three conferences. During the academic year 2019-20, he gave lectures on “Sustainability Transitions” in the context of various courses of the Department of History and Philosophy of Science and of the interdisciplinary postgraduate program “Science, Technology, Society — Science and Technology Studies” at NKUA. Further, he taught together with E. Arapostathis and S. Karas the seminar course “Environment, Technology and Governance” in the framework of the postgraduate program “History and Philosophy of Science and Technology” at NKUA.
